Garry Anthony Ivey, 62, of Dawsonville passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Tom Fish officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Born on October 5, 1956 in Gainesville Ga he was the son of the late Minor Henry and Allene Kerns Ivey, He was a social worker for the State of Georgia with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and Psychology.
Garry was a man of God. He knew how he felt religiously and believed with all his soul he would meet his Lord and Savior when his time came. He was a sweet and understanding husband, father and grandfather. In addition to the love he had for his family he also gave that much love to his pets and other animals.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ivey is preceded in death by his brother, Wesley Lamar Ivey.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his wife, Sherry Henderson Ivey of Dawsonville; daughter and son in law, Lorrie and Bobby Lovins of Winder; granddaughter, Lillian Lovins of Winder; sister, Barbara Brown of Gainesville; niece, Allene Brown of Gainesville. He is also survived by his dog Yogi and cat Jazzie.
