George Michael Eubanks, 75, joined his heavenly Father on March 18, 2019. Mike lived in Dahlonega, Georgia. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia at Piedmont Hospital on April 16, 1943.
Mike often loved to share one of his favorite lines – “God, Family Marines” – as he was an accomplished Marine retiring as Gunnery Sargent after 23 years of service. But Mike didn’t stop there. He went on to retire from Delta Air Lines with 18 years’ tenure, and he also retired from Henry Board of Education at Eagle’s Landing Middle School after 11 years and being named Professional of the Year.
Even with these accomplishments, Mike considered his greatest success to be his marriage to Bennie, which achieved 55 years on March 11th. Only second to Bennie, the love of his life and mother of his children, was the love he had for his kids Rick and Kimbrel. He adored his family and lived his life to make their world a better place.
Mike cherished his grandkids as well. Benjamin Michael – his namesake, Emily Kimbrel and Anastasia Marie. They were the center of his universe. There is nothing that made him happier than to be with his grandkids, sharing family moments and spending quality time together. And, lastly, he was a dog lover and considered his pets as family.
Mike is survived by his wife Bennie, Rick and Nicole Eubanks (son and daughter-in-law), Kevin and Kimbrel Arculeo (daughter and son-in-law), Donna Robinson (sister), Harry and Hazel Barber (aunt and uncle), Sylvia Wilbanks (sister-in-law), and his grandkids Ben, Emily and Ana-Marie.
Mike’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Dahlonega Funeral Home, which is located at 20 Gibson Road, Dahlonega, GA 30533. All friends and family are invited to attend. Please send flowers and acknowledgements to the funeral home. In addition, the family requests any charitable donations be given to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation.
