Christine Brock Hughes

Christine Brock Hughes, age 79 of Buford, GA, died Sunday, March 3, 2019 after an extended illness. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Danny Newbern will officiate. Interment will follow at Sugar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 3-5 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to Autism Speaks (autismspeaks.org) or the Zion Hill Baptist Church Building Fund (3390 S. Puckett Rd. Buford, GA 30519) in memory of Christine. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Ernestine Brock and her husband of 49 years, Alton Hughes. She is survived by her daughter, Kristi Stewart, Oakwood; son, Kirk Hughes and wife Karen, Cumming; grandchildren, Ashleigh Hughes, Wesley Hughes; great grandson, Keaton Mendez. Christine was born in Buford, GA and was a lifelong resident of the area. She retired as a secretary with the Gwinnett County School System and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Buford and a member of the Eastern Star.
