Mr. William “Bill” Ambrose DiTomassi, age 56, passed away on March 4, 2019 from a long 20 year battle with multiple cancers.
Born on February 26, 1963 in Freeport, IL, Bill was adopted by William and Cecelia DiTomassi as an infant and was raised in Rockford, Illinois. He met his biological parents with in the last five years, Adam Smith from Maine and Sue Woodward from Louisiana.
Bill owned his own bakery in Belvidere, Illinois for 16 years before moving to the south in the late 90’s. Bill worked for Fred’s and Winn Dixie after moving to Georgia. Bill was a man that enjoyed working with his hands, he remodeled two older homes that he and his wife, Mary, owned and lived in. Bill also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, plants and music. Bill loved to cook for others, even though he was not able to eat solid food himself.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Mary Williams DiTomassi, from Doraville, GA.
Bill had no two legged children, but will be very missed by our four legged kids: Tito, Odie, Fred and Morticia. He will also be met on the other side by Brandy, a Mastiff mix and Rodney, a long-tailed black cat who were just waiting at the bridge to welcome him home.
Funeral services will be held 3 pm Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chad Rising officiating. The family will receive friends 1 pm until time of the service at the funeral home.
