Sara Beth Elrod Moore age 90 of Dahlonega passed away on March 1, 2019.
Sara Beth Elrod Moore was born in Commerce, GA October 21,1928. She became a resident of Dahlonega when she attended North Georgia College in 1944 and met; married her late husband John William (Billy) Moore in 1947, a marriage of 65 years.
She worked alongside her husband to develop Moore’s Cash & Carry which they owned and operated until his retirement in 1985. She was a member at Dahlonega United Methodist Church where she was involved with the choir for many years.
She was among those instrumental in developing Dahlonega’s first Gold Rush as well as involvement in other community affairs for many years.
She is survived by children, Mary Ellyn Moore, Jon (Sandy) Moore, Richey Moore all of Dahlonega, grandchildren Christopher (Brooke) Massey, Dahlonega, Patrick Massey, Dahlonega, Katie Moore, Lee Moore, Dahlonega, Nicole (Frank) Purdy, Dahlonega, Adam Sullens, Richland, WA, Zeak Black (Jordan) Duluth, Great grandchildren, Sara Beth Massey, Mallory Massey, Clara Purdy, Will Purdy, Livvie Dunlap, Laken Martin, all of Dahlonega, A.J. Sullens, Richland, WA, Zelda Black, Duluth. Brother in law, Henry (Corky) Moore, sisters in law and brothers in law Ann and Al Wimpy, Dahlonega, Frank and Nancy Moore, St. Simons Island, GA, Flo Moore, Dahlonega.
A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Family will receive friends on Sunday March 3rd from 1-5 pm and again on Monday March 4th from 10-11 am. A Graveside service will follow visitation on Monday at 11:3- am at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega, GA.
