Bobby Hunter, age 71, of Clayton, GA passed away on Thursday, Febuary 28, 2019 at Brookside Senior Living Facility in Commerce, GA surrounded by his family. Bobby was a 1965 graduate of Rabun County High School and a veteran of the United States Army, having faithfully served his county in Vietnam with the 9th Infantry Division (Old Reliables) where he was awarded a Bronze Star with V Device for Valor.
Bobby was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie M. Ramey and wife Lynda E. Hunter. He is survived by son Robbie Hunter and wife Amber, daughters Sherri Lawrence and husband Darrell and Lexie Hunter; six grandchildren; Mindy Parker, Shayna Hunter, Madison Hunter, Payton Hunter, Audrey Lawrence, Billy Lawrence; and two great-grand children. Survivors also include his brothers, Ron Hunter and wife Linda, Jimmy Hunter and wife Debbie, sister Jan Ferguson and husband Larry, and sister Joyce Ashburn. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home on Saturday March 2, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday March 3, 2019, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home with Rev. Madison McCracken and Rev. Jimmy Hunter officiating. Interment will follow the service at Rabun Memory Park in Tiger, GA. The family will be at the home of Jimmy Hunter, 73 Hillcrest St. Mountain City, GA.
Bobby’s family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Brookside Senior Living Facility and Homestead Hospice Care for their compassion and care they provided him during the final days of his life.
