Roy I. Tallent, age 93, of Dunwoody, GA passed away Sunday, February 17, 2019. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Harris Tallent in 1983; parents, Henry Clyde and Louise Cook Tallent; step-father, Alex O. Moon, Sr; sister, Barbara Barron Jones; brother, Henry Clyde Tallent, Jr. Mr. Tallent is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Carolyn Bray Tallent, Dunwoody; children, Mary Alice and David Natsch, Johns Creek, GA and Julie Elizabeth and Michael Page, Grayson, GA; step-daughter, Lynn Butler Wright and husband, Scott, Canton, GA; grandchildren, Christopher Natsch, Jared Natsch, Lauren Natsch, Matthew Page; step-grandchildren, Brooke Heath and Mitchell Wright; brother, Alex O. (Fay) Moon, Pendergrass, GA; sisters-in-law, Madelene Tallent, Smyrna, GA, and Frances Atkinson, Stockbridge, GA; brother-in-law, Kenneth Bray, Braselton, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Tallent was born on May 17, 1925 in Atlanta, GA. He was a 1942 graduate of Fulton High School in Atlanta, and he received a law degree from Atlanta Law School. Mr. Tallent was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was retired from General Motors Assembly Plant in Doraville, GA, working in the parts division, in customer service, and as a former supervisor, after forty-six years of service. Mr. Tallent was a member of Mary Our Queen Catholic Church in Peachtree Corners. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, 6260 The Corners Parkway, Peachtree Corners, GA 30092 with Pastor Rev. Darragh Griffith serving as the Celebrant. The service will conclude with military honors at the church. There will be a reception at the church following the service. Inurnment will be at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, 1349 W Peachtree St, NE, Suite 1800, Atlanta, GA 30309 in memory of Roy Tallent.
