Mary Hallford Yearwood

Mrs. Mary Hallford Yearwood, age 84 of Phillips Road, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at her residence.

A daughter of the late George and Arlie Phillips Hallford, she was born March 21, 1934 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was employed with Coats and Clark for a number of years and later worked as a cosmetologist for a number of years. She also worked in food service and was a homemaker. She was a member of Toccoa Creek Baptist Church, the Closer Walk Sunday School Class and taught the Girls Sunday School Class for a number of years. In past years, she was a member of the Stephens County Auxiliary and the Toccoa Little League Auxiliary where she served as Secretary and Treasurer, a member of Western Square Dancing where she served as secretary and treasurer, a member of Shiloh Fire Department Auxiliary and was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts for a number of years. She loved doing anything she could for family and friends, getting a blessing for doing for others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Yearwood in 2004, by two brothers Jeff and Amos Hallford and by a sister, Sarah Morrow.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Susan Yearwood and Kenny and Connie Yearwood both of Toccoa; grandchildren, Keaton Yearwood, Ryan Yearwood, Kelsey Whitworth, Sarah Hawkins and Samuel Yearwood; two great-grandchildren, Sadie Hawkins and Ava Torres; two brothers and sister-in-law, James and Randi Hallford of Demorest and Robert Beard of Pickens, South Carolina.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 23, 2019, 2 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Vernon Dorminey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Sam Yearwood, Keaton Yearwood, Ryan Yearwood, Keith Canup, Mike Morrow and Greg Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Hallford, Rickey Hallford and Dennis Breedlove.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Roselane Cemetery with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.
