Mrs. Evelyn Hubbard Hodges, age 83 of Pinetree Court, Toccoa passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Stephens County Hospital.
A daughter of the late Guy and Roselee Thomas Hubbard, she was born December 31, 1935 in Franklin County, Georgia. She was employed with Singer Furniture in Washington, North Carolina for four years and later worked at Bassett Furniture for four years. She was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and loved to cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Segars, by her husband, William Hodges in 2014 and by several siblings.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Donnie Gordy of Toccoa and Anita and Tom Bennett of Griffin, Georgia; son, Morris Segars and Janet Brown of Toccoa; four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be Friday, February 22, 2019, 1 O’clock p.m. at Sunshine United Methodist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Dr. Tommy Childress officiating.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Sunshine United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Evelyn Hubbard Hodges.
