Gail West Rigby, age 78, of Gainesville, GA, went to be with her LORD and Savior, Saturday morning, February 2, 2019. Our wife and mother was born November 20, 1940 in Cache, Illinois to the late Daisy (Fisher) West and Joshua West.
Services in Georgia will be held at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with visitation from 3:30 pm until the funeral hour. Funeral Service will begin at 5:00 pm Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
Services in Illinois will be provided by Bailey’s Funeral Home of Vienna. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, February 9, 2019. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery Dongola, IL.
Gail was educated in Grand Chain, Illinois, and in Elkhart, Indiana. She met Terry in Elkhart, Indiana, at Youth for Christ meetings. They were married June 5, 1959, at the First Church of God in Elkhart, Indiana. For many years she taught Good News Clubs, gave piano lessons, and reared her children, working at R.R. Donnelleys to send them to college. She faithfully attended local churches, serving by playing piano and organ, and singing.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Lee Rigby, who died July 2, 1995; brothers, Bruce, Gene and Jack; sister Sue and brother-in-law, Robert; brothers-in-law, Gene Winterbottom and Chuck Thomason; and sister-in-law, Donna (Sichling) West; sister and brother-in-law, Loyd and Sue Hayes.
Gail is survived by her husband of 59 years, Terry Rigby; daughter, Dawn (Steve) White of Gainesville, GA; daughter Joy (Brian) Weiss of Indianapolis, IN. she loved her sons-in-law, Steve White and Brian Weiss and absolutely treasured her 4 grandchildren Stevie (Monika) White, Sarah (Brian)Phillips, Carly and Madison Weiss; as well as one great-grandson, James. She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Langley (Wanda) West; Luella Thomason, Jane Winterbottom, Joann West and Patsy (Frank) Stetter; sisters-in-law, Shirley Bunker West and Sherrie Gardner West as well as sister and brother-in-law, Tim and Connie Rigby.
We have loved being part of your life here on earth, Gail and Mama. Thank you for your love and care for all of us.
