Vickie "Fruity" Carroll

Vickie "Fruity" Carroll, age 85, of Clarkesville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 19th, 2019.

Vickie was born on May 1st, 1933 in Lawrenceville, GA to the late Guy and Ida Chadwick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charlie Capehart, and siblings, Jean, Louise, Gerald, and Sandra. Fruity lost the sweetheart of her life, Don, on April 20, 2016, after 63 years of a most wonderful life together.

It is impossible in a few paragraphs to describe our Fruity. So we won't. Instead, we will say how 
incredibly blessed we were to be loved by her. Anyone who came into their home was always welcomed with laughter, kindness, and graciousness. As much as we will miss her, we are thrilled that she is once again with Dad.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Richard Behrens, Clarkesville, GA; Lisa and Jim Hancock, Clarkesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Angie Carroll, Lilburn, GA; five grandchildren, Blake (Anna) Sharpton, Shelli (Kevin) Brooks, Lindsay Carroll, Kaila (Sam) Steele, Courtney (Brandon) Payne; six great-grandchildren, Edie and Cam Sharpton; Andrew, Savannah, Nolan, and Charlie Steele. Siblings: Helen (Reid) Caudell, Mike (Mary Lynn) Chadwick, and Ken Chadwick.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Whitfield Funeral Home North Chapel, Demorest, GA, with Rev. Jim McLendon officiating. 
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, if desired, Fruity and her family would love for donations to be sent in her memory to her loving home for the past 2-1/2 years, Graceful Care Senior Living, 217 Landers Street, Clarkesville, GA 30523. The kindness, love, and compassion shown to Fruity at Graceful Care can never be repaid to Grace and Jeff Higgins and the Graceful Care Angels. From her family, we thank you all and love you more than words can say.
