Ruth Inez Chadwick, 88, of Atlanta passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019. She is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 2 sisters, her husband, James Chadwick, and her granddaughter, Amberley Hobgood.
She is survived by 1 sister, 2 brothers, and 4 daughters, Sandra Hobgood, Angie Simonton and her husband, Ken, Jamie Hicks and her husband, Gary, and Gina Chadwick; her grandchildren, Brandon Hobgood and his wife Leigh Ann, Adam Hobgood and his wife, Adria, and Daniel Chadwick; and her great grandchildren, Sierra Hobgood, Nathan Hobgood, Chase Hobgood, Morning Hobgood, Lenora, Aria, and Amani Cherry.
Ruth was born and raised in Cumming, GA and lived most of her adult life in Atlanta. She worked for the Atlanta Baptist Association for over 20 years. Ruth dedicated her life to Christ and spent many years doing charity and volunteer work. She loved to travel, cook and plan big meals for all the people she loved. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church of Morrow and made many special friends there. She was an exceptional, loving, and generous woman who truly made a difference in so many people’s lives.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 20, at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Morrow. A second service will be held Monday, January 21, at 12:00 noon at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church Sunday the hour prior to the service and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
