Charles Edwin “Runt” Stone, age 87, of Cumming, GA, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019. Charles was born in 1931, to the late William “Bill” and Cliff Stone. He is a member of Longstreet Baptist Church in Alpharetta, GA. Charles was a lifetime member of the National Racking Horse Association. He worked as a carpenter and was known by the nickname Runt. He was a loving husband, father, nandaddy, brother and friend. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Robin Stone; brothers, William Jr. and James Stone; sisters, Mildred Pirkle and Ruth Watson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Clydine Stone; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald (Marilyn) Stone and Randy (Rhonda) Stone; sister, Louise Martin; sister-in-law, Mattie Ruth Stone; brother-in-law, J.B. Pirkle; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Stone will be held Monday, January 14, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Jonathan Kirby and Rev. Terry Cowart officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
