William "Bill" Morgan Mitchell

Mr. William “Bill” Morgan Mitchell, age 70 of Dahlonega, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 following a extended illness.  

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday January 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Phil Robertson will officiate.    

Mr. Mitchell was born July 20, 1948 in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Clifford Mitchell and Mildred Hanson Mitchell.  He retired as the owner and operator of Mitchell Electrical Contracting. Bill served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seal. Bill was of the Baptist Faith and was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Dawn Harrison and his brother, Warren Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gwendolyn Mitchell of Dahlonega, daughter and son-in-law, Shannon & Matt Bowen of Jefferson, daughter and son-in-law, Pam & Jeff Gilchrist of Gadsden, Alabama son, Craig Mitchell of Acworth, Georgia, grandchildren, Dylan Anderson, Cassidy Gable, Dylan Gilchrist, Taylor Gilchrist, and Brant & Brady Bowen. Also surviving is his sister, Marion Thrasher of Gadsden, Alabama.

Flowers are accepted but donations can be made in Bill’s memory to the local Humane Society.
