Ronald David Corder

Obituary Date: Sunday, January 6, 2019

Ronald David Corder, loving husband, father, mentor and friend, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019.

Ronald was born December 20, 1948 in Columbia, Tennessee to Irvin and Vera Capley Corder.  In 1969, Ronald moved to Georgia to accept a position with Gwinnett Medical Center.  The following year Ronald met the love of his life, Millicent Warner while attending a summer course at Gainesville College.  In 1983, Ronald and Mille had their greatest accomplishment in life, their son, David Corder.  Just this past year, in September, Ronald gained a precious daughter-in-law that he absolutely adored, Lauren Fugel Corder. 
Ronald and Millie shared a great passion and love in raising and showing horses.  Ronald was very accomplished and loved within the horse show world.  He was just elected as president of GA Quarter Horse Association for 2019.

Another great accomplishment of Ronald’s was starting and finishing his 40 year career with the Gwinnett Hospital System.  During his time there, he had the pleasure of working with and making lifelong friends.

Ronald is proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Ikie Corder, and his mother in law, Arthelia Warner.  He is survived by his wife, Millicent W. Corder, his son and daughter in law David and Lauren Corder, Brothers Kenneth Corder, Gordon Corder and his wife Patricia, sister-in law Shirley Corder and sister and brother in law Robbie and John Kappes.  Nieces and Nephews Lydia and Keith Malugin, Jason and Angie Corder, Carla and Paul Sims, Rafe and Dawnell Corder, Beau and Marcie Corder, Wayne and Rebecca Corder, Alex and Brittany Corder, Jared Corder, Stewart and Dana Butterworth, Lydia and Kenneth Elinburg, John and Julie Butterworth, and a host of other great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Tuesday January 8, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will be in the Memorial Park Chapel on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm with the family receiving visitors from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.  Mr. Rodney Stephens and Mr. David Shumake will be officiating.

Flowers will be accepted however those desiring to honor Ronald may make donations to Atlanta Road Church of Christ for North Georgia Bible Camps.
