Caroline “Sue” Ashmore

Obituary Date: Friday, January 4, 2019

Mrs. Caroline Sue Ashmore, 79 of Gainesville, passed away January 4, 2019 following an extended illness. She is the daughter of the late Paul and Irene Johnson, and is preceded in death by her sister Jeanette Butler, sister Brenda Kelly, brother Carmon Johnson, and son Jerry Douglas Ashmore.

Sue is a graduate of Stephens County High School. She was a homemaker and worked alongside Rev. Pierce Ashmore in ministry for over 50 years. They served churches all over the CHC Denomination throughout their years of service. Sue was a member of Community Chapel CH Church in Dahlonega.

She is survived by husband Rev. Pierce Ashmore, sister Edna Crisp, sister Jo Jackson, sister Glenda Kerby, granddaughter Heather Duren, grandson-in-law Dillon Duren, and great granddaughters Haley & Havolynn Duren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. Reverend Wayne Hicks will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Community Chapel Church, 1656 Old Dahlonega Hwy., Dahlonega, GA. 30533.
