Lonia Porter Roberts

Lonia Porter Roberts, age 90, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2019. She was preceded in death by parents, George W. and Mamie Porter; sister, Elsie Maddox; brother, Lewis Porter; grandson, Tristan Roberts. Mrs. Roberts is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Bonnie O. Roberts, Sugar Hill, GA; children, Susan and Paul Pirkle, Buford, GA, Sidney and Junyan Roberts, Cumming, GA, Stacy and Keith Cross, Buford, GA, Terry and Deanna Roberts, Winder, GA; five grandchildren, Mark and Mariana Pirkle,  Lynne and Rick Storm, Andrew and Britni Cross, Alaina and Austin Caton, Cody Roberts; six great grandchildren, Alec, Kalli, and Rian Pirkle, Skylar Hux, Scarlett Caton, and Parker Dougherty; sisters, Thelma (Lloyd) Thrasher, Buford, GA, Lessie Teems, Alto, GA; sisters-in-law, Imogene Porter, Buford, GA, and Margaret Kirkpatrick, Jefferson, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Roberts was born on December 8, 1928 in Bold Springs, GA. She was a graduate of Sugar Hill High School and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Roberts was a long time member of Old Suwanee Baptist Church in Buford where she taught a Sunday School class for fifty-six years.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. at Old Suwanee Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Old Suwanee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, January 4 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
