James Kiddle Brooks

Mr. James Kiddle Brooks, age 89, of Commerce, GA died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.  Mr. Brooks was born in Royston to the late Clarence and Jose Smith Brooks.  He was a member, and deacon, of New Hope Worship Center.  He was retired from Shirley’s as a cutting room work and an active member of the senior center.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his sons, James S. Brooks and Stanley Keith Brooks; daughter, Liela Brooks; two sisters and four brothers.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Jackson Brooks of Commerce; sons, Curtis Nolan Brooks of Royston and David Junior Barrett of Nicholson; brother, Doyle Brooks of Royston; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Friday, January 4 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Beasley and Rev. Patsy Sherwood officiating.  Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 6 to 8 PM.
