Miriam Whitmire Bentley

Miriam Whitmire Bentley, age 98 of Cornelia, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2018.

Born on April 17, 1920 in Jefferson, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Ninnie Nunn Whitmire.  Mrs. Bentley was a homemaker and was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church.  In her spare time, she enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, sewing, painting and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Mabin R. Bentley, Jr.; brother, Lamar C. Whitmire; sister and brother-in-law, Carlton and Sanford Blackburn; sister-in-law, Mildred C. Bentley; brother-in-law and spouse, Newell and Lillie C. Bentley.

Surviving are daughter, Donna B. Bouwsma of Winterville, Georgia; granddaughter and spouse, Allison and Rick Strickland and great granddaughter, Bentley Strickland all of Colbert, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 pm on Monday, December 31, 2018 at Cornelia United Methodist Church with Rev. Johnny Ray and Mr. Grant Bentley officiating.

Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the service hour on Monday at the church.
