Barbara Ellen Thomas Coggins, age 76, of Buford, GA passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Samuel Thomas Waters. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Donald R. Coggins of Buford, GA; children, Deborah Gail and Travis Layfield of Flowery Branch, GA; Darrell Richard and Cynthia Bailey Coggins of Dacula, GA, and Melissa Denise Coggins of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Christie and Matt Rouse, Matthew and Tiffany Blodgett, Amelia and John Love, Jesse Coggins, Luke Coggins, Consuella and Jose Acosta, and Jeremiah Rosenberger; great grandchildren, Andrew Rouse, Abigail Rouse, Elijah Acosta, Kyndall Acosta, Ezra Acosta, Dominick Blodgett, Adelaide Bell, and Althea Sola; sisters, Wanda and Jim Kirby of Snellville, GA, Marlaine Thomas of Flowery Branch, GA, and Marcelle and Wesley Smith of Dacula, GA; brother-in-law, Jimmy King of Buford, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Coggins was born May 9, 1942 in Blairsville, GA. She was retired from Makita Tool Company in Buford, GA after 14 years. She was a member of the Buford Church of God. She was an ordained minister by the Congregational Holiness Church and had ministered at the Free Will Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Buford Church of God, 4800 South Lee St, Buford, GA with Pastor Joel Shadburn, Rev. Matt Rouse and Pastor Joey Grizzle officiating. Mrs. Coggins will lie in state at the church starting at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. and Monday, December 24, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
