Ann Hearn, age 83 of Buford, GA, died suddenly Tuesday, November 20, 2018. A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel in Buford. Pastor Mark Maynard will officiate. The family will receive friends at 10:00AM.
Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years, James B. Hearn of Buford GA; daughter Joli Tripp and husband Russell of Bradenton, FL; daughter Lori Jacobi of Scottsdale, AZ; sister Nell Crowe, Duluth, GA; and a loving GranAnn to 4 grandchildren, Jillian (Joshua) Henry, Jamie (Nicholas) Cittadino, Julia Jacobi, and Jake Jacobi.
Ann was a highly popular and respected American Kennel Club Judge of all Sporting, Terrier, Toy, and Non-Sporting breeds as well as Best in Show. Before embarking on her successful judging career over 34 years ago, she had a distinguished background as an owner-handler of Fox Terriers and Bichon Frise and authored 2 books and numerous articles on many breeds. In recent years, she owned Miniature Pinschers. As a judge, Mrs. Hearn judged all over the world at many prestigious venues. She was known for her kindness and wonderful sense of humor. Ann also had a creative side as an accomplished pianist and violinist, a gifted seamstress, and a master in the art of knitting and beading.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in memory of Ann Hearn to Take The Lead, a non-profit organization that provides services, support and care for all qualified participants in the sport of dogs who suffer from the devastating realities of life-threatening or terminal illnesses.
