Karen T. Warcup

Karen T. Warcup, 73, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on December 16, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Thomas and the late Edith (Parker) Thomas of Branford, Connecticut.

Karen was born on April 17, 1945 in New Haven, Connecticut.  She attended school in Branford before enrolling in Yale-New Haven School of Nursing in 1963.  Upon graduating, Karen began a fulfilling medical career that spanned 49 years, 3 states, and numerous hospitals. 

In addition to her patients, she tended to the many bumps, bruises, and ills of her two children, Scott Lipe and Shannon McClure.  She is survived by her children and their spouses, Jodi Lipe and Dusty McClure; grandsons, Jaden Lipe, Noah McClure, and Jonah McClure; her brother, Bob Madden; and nieces and nephews, Peter Wolff, Marcia Madden, Megan Wolff, Mark Madden, Jesse Wolff and Lenya (Wolff) Kearns.  Karen was predeceased by her mother and father, as well as her sister (and look-alike) Maureen Wolff.

Karen enjoyed knitting and other crafts, and was a fantastic gardener…though not a big fan of the summer humidity.  She loved cooking – but not as much as she loved cooking shows!  She had exquisite handwriting, the likes of which may never be seen again.  And she loved to give gifts.  She made sure her grandsons had enough pajamas to last them each a lifetime. 

She was very loved, and she will be missed.
