Herman Eugene Dover

Mr. Herman Eugene Dover, age 87 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at The Oaks at Scenic View following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Drewery Loggins will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Dover was born July 26, 1931 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Joe Dover and Estelle Latimer Dover.  He was retired from Chicopee Textile Mill and was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.  Herman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elaine Westmoreland Dover, his brothers, Marvin & Eddie Dover and his sisters, Doris Clark and Carol Apple.  

Mr. Dover is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Sharon & Marvin Carlan of Alto, his son & daughter-in-law, Tommy & Nancy Dover of Temple, Georgia, his grandchildren, Michael Thompson of Atlanta, Brandon & Alisha Dover of Gainesville, Jonathan Dover and Tommy Dover, II, both of Gainesville, his brother & sister-in-law, Grover & Glenda Dover of Gainesville and brother, Otis Dover of Gainesville and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
