Miss Polly Juanita Floyd, age 82 of Toccoa passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.
A daughter of the late Ernest Noah Floyd and Belle Fulghum Floyd, she was born January 5, 1936 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived most of her life in Fulton County and in Toccoa since 1984. She was a graduate of Toccoa High School and Furman University where she received her teaching degree. She taught three years at Griffin-Spalding Junior High School and was employed by the DeKalb County School System for 32 years as a teacher at Knollwood Elementary School and Montgomery School, She was a member of the First Baptist Church Toccoa and the Martha Mitchell Sunday School Class, a member of the DeKalb Association of Education, Professional Association of Georgia Educators, Alpha Kappa chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Educators Association, Stephens County Retired Educators, Toccoa Pilot Club and the PBX Club.
Survivors include two sisters, Jackie Lanier of Toccoa, Georgia and June Stubbs of Perry, Georgia; niece, Debra Ramsey, nephew, Brion Lanier; great-nieces, Jessica Comeau and Tiffany McCurry; a number of great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 13, 2018, 2 O’clock p.m. at the Chapel of the First Baptist Church with The Reverend David Ritcey officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Jerry Lynch, Gary Foster, Buster Smith, Jimmy Cash, Randy Shirley and Peter Comeau. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Ramsey, Harold Alexander and John Bellamy and the honorary pallbearers should meet at the church chapel by 1:30 p.m.
The family will be at the home on Green Hill Place and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acre-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Miss Polly Juanita Floyd.
