Jamey Curry Simmons, age 47, of Cumming, GA, passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018. Jamey was born in Tucker, GA, in 1971 to Adriel and Etta Simmons. He attended and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church in Ellijay, GA. Jamey was an avid Atlanta Braves and Elvis fan. Everyone that knew Jamey, loved and enjoyed his pranks and jokes. He enjoyed playing cards every chance he got. Jamey was a guardian angel to everyone he met and will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his father, Adriel Simmons and half siblings, Charles Simmons and Faye Eckhart.
Jamey lives on through his caring mother, Etta Simmons; siblings, Jerry (Jackie) Barrett, Terry (Darlene) Barrett, Robbie (Marvin) Ruis, Lee (Chris) Barclay and Jason Simmons; half siblings, Linda Tussey and Adrianna Sosh; his two faithful sidekicks, Tiger and Lassie; numerous nieces and nephews; along with many other loving friends and relatives.
Funeral services for Jamey will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Danny Ray Martin and Rev. Austin Houston officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
The family requests that all those who attend the service Monday to please feel free to wear any Atlanta Braves attire you may have in memory of Jamey.
