Mildred Fowler Wood

Mildred Fowler Wood, age 95, of Sugar Hill, GA passed away Monday, December 3, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Wood; parents, Dewitt and Sophia Smith Fowler; brother, Talmadge Fowler; and sisters, Lorene Thornhill and Marie Moss. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Richard Buice of Seneca, SC, Judy and Kenneth Allen of Suwanee, GA; four grandchildren and spouses, Todd and Beth Buice of Seneca, SC, Cindy and David Lowery of Salem, SC, Joe and Barbara Allen of San Diego, CA, and Marcy West of Suwanee, GA; five great grandchildren, Whitney Lowery, Alex Lowery, Sophia West, Samantha West, Dylan Allen; one great, great grandchild, Violet White; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Wood was born January 31, 1923 in the “Haw Creek” community of Cumming, GA. She was retired from Scientific Atlanta. She was a member of the Haw Creek Baptist Church, Cumming, GA and was a member of the Woodmen of the World Society. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Savannah Plantation and Embracing Hospice for all the wonderful care given to Mildred Wood. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA with Rev. Kenneth Parker officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA.
