Betty Floyd Wheeler

Betty Floyd Wheeler, age 83, of Cumming, GA, a Forsyth county native, passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, December 2, 2018. Betty was born in 1935, to the late Ingram and Ruby Tallant.  She graduated from Liberty University with a degree in Bible Theology.  Betty retired from AT&T. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. While attending Antioch Baptist Church she held the positions of the Adult Sunday School Secretary and she was over the kitchen duties. Betty was very active in her church. She always decorated for any special event the church held. Through her years of dedicated service to the Lord, Betty grew a love for missions and would always send special gifts at Christmas time. Along with all her other titles, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, W.T. Floyd; sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth McBrayer and Mildred (Dan) McIver; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold Tallant. Toy Tallant, Alford (Elaine) Tallant, and Hoover (Curly) Tallant.

Betty’s love and kindness will live on through her husband of 33 years, Lamar Wheeler; daughter and son-in-law, Donna (Randy) Samples; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis (Carla) Floyd; brother and sister-in-law, George (Sue) Tallant; brothers- in-law and sisters- in-law, Butch (Judy) Wheeler, Jan Tallant, and Gene (Mary) McBrayer; grandchildren, Blake (Lauren) Samples, Taylor (Hannah) Samples, and  Amanda (Heath) Roper; great grandchildren, Peyton Samples, Emmett Samples and Lilly Belle Roper; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Wheeler will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Travis Bridgeman and Rev. Don Richards. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.
