Susan "Sue" Fort Rowell

Mrs. Susan “Sue” Fort Rowell, age 75, residing on Myrtle Street in Toccoa passed away Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the home. 

A daughter of the late Reverend Joseph “Joe” O. Fort and Elise McDonald Fort, she was born March 30, 1943 in Texas later moving to Smyrna when she and Richard married in 1964. She has lived in Toccoa for the past twenty-five years. Mrs. Rowell was a school teacher with the Cobb County School System where she retired after many years of service. She was also a homemaker and a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church-Toccoa. She was a member of the Open Door Sunday School Class at the church, was involved with several Bible study groups, and also countless volunteer organizations. Mrs. Rowell also enjoyed Bridge games with close friends.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Lynn Rowell of the home, son and daughter-n-law, Rance and Katherine Sikes-Rowell of Alpharetta, Ga. and a daughter, Lisa Rowell Thibault of Alpharetta, Also a sister, Betty Jo Rivers of Texas and also by four grandchildren., Cassidy Rowell, Cole Thibault, Blake Rowell, and Zach Rowell. 

The Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 26, 2018, 2:00 P.M., at the First United Methodist Church with The Reverend Dr. John Brown officiating. 

The family is at the home on Myrtle Street and will receive friends at The Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. Sunday evening. 

A private interment will be held at Stephens Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.
