Margie Lee Hughes, age 89, of Cumming, GA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 19, 2018. Margie was born in 1929, to the late Carlos Frank and Jennie Mae Jenkins. She was a part of the Ladies Auxiliary, and always enjoyed marching in the parades. Margie and her husband Ed attended many church in the area. She loved to listen to bluegrass music. She was known as the main dancer at Chestnut Ridge Nursing Home. Although Margie had many hobbies, her favorite thing to do was consume her time and joy with her loving family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edward “Ed” Hughes; sons, Gary and Kenny Hughes; sister, Ressie Wilson; grandson, Bradley Hughes and great grandson, Jake Brock.
Survivors include her; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Rachel Hughes, Bill and Susan Jenkins; Barbara Hughes, Joyce Hughes Richards; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Peggy Jenkins; grandchildren, Jeremy Hughes, Jennifer Constable, Brannon Hughes, Brittany Hughes, Tonya Hughes, Tim Hughes, Tara Sisum, Farah Hughes, Patrick Hughes, Scott Jenkins, and Chuck Jenkins; 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchild; along with many other loving relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hughes will be held Wednesday, November 21, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, with Rev. Jimmy Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
