Patricia Gail Tudor Frederick, age 76, of Buford, GA passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018.
She was preceded in death in by her parents, Floyd and Audrey Tudor of Gadsden, AL.
Mrs. Frederick is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, James W. “Fred” Frederick, Sr; two sons, James Frederick, Jr (Marie) of Demorest, GA and Michael Frederick (Missy) of Framingham, MA; grandchildren, Jake Frederick, Greenville, SC, Amy Frederick, Carl, GA, Brook Parrish (Nick), Alto, GA, Dylan Nicholson, Demorest, GA, and Mariah Nicholson, Demorest, GA; two brothers, Roger Tudor (Shelia), Gadsden, AL and Steve Tudor (Chris) Brentwood, TN; sister-in-law, Azilee Frederick, Seymour, TN, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
Pat was born in Guntersville, Alabama on January 29, 1942 and was raised in Gadsden, AL. She graduated from Gadsden High School, and received a Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis in music from Jacksonville State College, and a Master’s Degree from Georgia State College. Mrs. Frederick was hired to teach in Lilburn, GA, where she met the love of her life, “Fred”. She was an elementary teacher for Gwinnett County Schools for thirty years. She taught at Lilburn Elementary, Dyer Elementary, and Sugar Hill Elementary schools. Upon retirement from teaching she decided to try something different. For eleven years, she shared a job with her friend Linda at Buford Florist. Pat loved music. She was a singer, a pianist, and an organist. She played the piano or organ at College Heights Baptist Church in Gadsden, AL, Central Baptist Church in Lawrenceville, GA, Suwanee Baptist and Shadowbrook Baptist churches in Suwanee, GA, and McKendree United Methodist Church in Lawrenceville, GA. In later years, Pat began singing in the Silvertones Choir, and played for a smaller group of Silvertones called the Joyful Sounds. She played for many weddings and funerals in Georgia and Alabama. Mrs. Frederick loved her Lord, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her family, her students, and her many, many friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at McKendree United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Brian Germano and Pastor Ryan Miller officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 9 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Flanigan Funeral Home in Buford, GA. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Frederick requested donations be made to either the McKendree United Methodist Church music program or to St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Hospital. Pat wanted to thank her Prayer Circle for their hundreds of prayers, and she prayed that all her family and friends believe in John 3:16 so they may see each other in the future.
