Thomas Reams Johnson

Thomas Reams Johnson, age 82, of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018.

Mr. Johnson was born on December 17, 1935 in Warrenton, Georgia to the late Ira H. and Annie L. Johnson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ira Everett Johnson, Marvin Alton Johnson, Leon Foster Johnson; sister, Navy Newsome; and great-grandchild, Peyton Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of Level Grove Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran, having served his country in the Korean Conflict; He also served in Japan. Mr. Johnson was a retired electrician.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Willaree Ledford Johnson, of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Brian Ivy of, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Sandra Johnson, of Flowery Branch; Johnny and Lisa Johnson, of Gainesville; sister, Annette Finley, of Thomson; brother, Lewis Johnson, of Thomson; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel with Rev. Charles Holland and Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2018 and from 12:00 p.m. to the service hour on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the funeral home. 

Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
