Guy Samuel Medlock, age 65, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.
Mr. Medlock was born on July 31, 1953, in Demorest, Georgia, to the late Doug and Polly Wiley Medlock. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Beth Martin; brother, Stacy Medlock; sister-in-law, Gay Rich; and best friend, Dobber Pate. Mr. Medlock retired as owner and operator of Medlock Grading Company and was a member of Clemons Chapel United Methodist Church. He loved NASCAR, hunting and fishing, and the outdoors. He found God later in life and loved people. If you ever met Guy one time, you never forgot him. He had a kind heart and was a loyal friend to everyone. Guy was a loving father, special big brother, and grandfather.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Lou Anne Medlock of Lula; daughter and spouse, Samantha and Amber Medlock-Fredericksen of Lincoln, NE; daughter, Allison Medlock of Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Mandy Medlock of Jacksonville, FL; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tammy and Shane Palmer of Carnesville and Terrie and Curtis Ellerbee of Dahlonega; sisters-in-law, Robin Rich of Mt. Airy and Ann Cannon of Omaha, NE; brothers and sisters-in-law: Eddie and Lynn Medlock of Lula, Doug and Sue Medlock of Bonnerdale, AR, and Ricky Turner of Lula; grandchildren: Darien Medlock-Fredericksen, Granger Medlock-Fredericksen, Madison Medlock, Aidan Medlock, Ethan Medlock, Lilly Smith, and Ava Smith; six nieces; four nephews; and three aunts.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Clemons Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Shane Turner and James Shockley officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, November 2, 2018, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
