Mary Faw passed away October 20, 2018.
Mary was born in Kingsport, Tennessee on August 11, 1941, the daughter of Joseph Hubert and Eunice Margaret Dixon.
She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1959 and attended East Tennessee State College marrying Bill Faw, her husband for 55 years, on December 29, 1962.
The family moved to Atlanta in 1969 and to Cumming, Ga in 1976. After four children: Michael, David, Andy and Beth, she began a professional career first as a teacher at Mashburn Elementary and then for the next 25 years as a pre-school teacher with the pre-school at Cumming First United Methodist Church.
Mary dearly loved her children and grandchildren and those occasions when the family was together. She loved teaching, and she loved the people she met.
She was predeceased by her parents, and three brothers, Joe, Chuck and Robert Dixon.
She is survived by her husband Bill; sisters: Peggy Yates and Patty Roberts; brother-in-law Bill Yates; sister-in-law Lyn Vermillion; her children: Michael and Liz Faw, David and Diane Faw, Andy and Pam Faw and Beth and Bryan Hardy; grandchildren: Peyton and Brennen Faw, Walker, Carson, Joe and Campbell Hardy.
A memorial service was held at 2:30 on Tuesday, October 23 at Cumming First United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathie Stasko presiding.
