Kathryn Watkins

Kathryn Watkins died at the age of 93 on October 13, 2018, in her home in Gainesville, Georgia.  Services will be held at 4:00 on October 27th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gainesville Georgia.

Her insatiable wanderlust led her to set foot on all seven continents.  Her love for animals inspired experiences with whales, wolves, penguins, polar bears, rides on elephants, camels, dog sleds, and an African safari.     She loved regaling her friends and family with tales of her adventures.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, caring teacher, passionate cook, Air Force veteran of the second world war, and devout Lutheran.  Her three sons and six grandchildren are a reflection of her adventurous spirit, her ambition, her appetite for fine food, and her unending love and generosity.  She is gone, but never forgotten.

You are no longer where you always were; but you are everywhere we are.
