Donald William Holbrooks

Mr. Donald William Holbrooks, age 83 of Davis Avenue, Toccoa passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A son of the late Thomas Billy Holbrooks and Alice May Stowe Holbrooks, he was born July 6, 1935 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He worked with UARCO for a number of years and later worked with Coats American for a number of years where he retired. He and his wife Sue did gospel singings for a number of years. He was involved in the Jerry’s Kids, Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Martha Sue Elrod Holbrooks; three daughters, Melinda David, Rebecca Roach and Donna Galliher all of Toccoa; son, Donald Wayne Shedd of Westminister, South Carolina; 41 grandchildren; three brothers, Tony Holbrooks of Toccoa, Johnny Holbrooks of Atlanta and Jerry Holbrooks of Danielsville.

Memorial services will be Monday, October 22, 2018, 4 O’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.

The family will be at the home on Davis Avenue and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday, October 22, 2018, 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
