Nolan Kent “Goob” Griffith

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Nolan Kent “Goob” Griffith, age 64 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Thursday, October 4, 2018.  Mr. Griffith was born in Athens, Georgia a son of the late Harold and Rose Mary Dalton Griffith. Kent was self - employed in the Construction Industry, and was also a Disabled Veteran of the U.S. Navy.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffith is also preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Rebecca Griffith, grandmother, Burel Peppers Bird and step - mother, Azalee Smallwood Griffith.

Survivors include his wife Lynne Serpa Griffith of Jefferson.  Three children; Rebecca Tredway and her husband Edgar of Jefferson, Kenneth Randall Griffith of Commerce, and fiancé Brianna Noble, Terri Lynne Griffith and fiancé Michael Patton, and Julie Anna Griffith partner, John Carter of Cornelia.  Sister, Dillis Whitmire of Maysville and a brother, Tommy Gerald Griffith of Homer.  Eleven grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 8, 2018 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Loy Reed officiating.  The family will receive friends 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 105 West Park Drive, Suite C, Athens, Georgia  30606.
