Mary Lou Fricks

Mary Lou Fricks Morris, age 91, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 2, 2018.

Mrs. Morris was born on August 12, 1927, in Stephens County, Georgia; a daughter of the late Thomas Lamon and Ruby Beatrice Davis Fricks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Fricks Ausburn; three stepsisters; and three stepbrothers. Mrs. Morris retired from Piedmont Automotive. She was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church where she was a GA Leader for several years and had a ministry of cooking for the young people of the church every Sunday. Mrs. Morris was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Emory Vance Morris, Jr. of Mt. Airy; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Steve Spillers of Conyers; son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Tina Morris of Mt. Airy; sisters, Lucy Fricks Tench of Cornelia and Joyce Fricks Dodd of Mt. Airy; three stepsisters; brother, Thomas “Tommy” Raymond Fricks of Mt. Airy; grandchildren: Michael Morris, Tracy Maloch, Matthew Spillers, Joshua Spillers, Cody Morris, and Dakota Goode; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm on Friday, October 5, 2018, at Hazel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Burrell and Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia.
