Bernice V. Baker, a mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, entered into Heaven peacefully from her Home, on October 1, 2018 at the age of 91.
She was born on March 5, 1927, in Boxes Cove, Alabama. She was the 13th child, of 15 children, born to the parents of Datie Burt Hall, Sr and Amanda Shelton.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Baker and son Robert Baker.
She is survived by her son Russel Guffey and wife Lorraine Guffey, daughter Mary Kathy Goodrum and husband Jim Goodrum and son Jerry Guffey.
She enjoyed her Bible, reading, baking, cross stitching, playing cards and loved being surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed watching and feeding her birds in the backyard and was known for requesting a special trip out to get an ice cream cone.
We rejoice because she walked humbly with her Lord and her reward has been secured. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Therefore there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness.”
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kindred Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 3350 Riverwood Parkway SE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30339
