Eva Roper age 86 of Gainesville passed away Monday October 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
A lifelong resident of Gainesville, Georgia, Mrs. Roper retired from Sears in 1992. She was a published poet and an artist. She received numerous awards from the International Society of Poet's, and some of her poetry is displayed in the Library of Congress. She enjoyed watersports, gardening, fishing, painting and music. Mrs. Roper was a member of Victory Baptist Church.
She had a larger than life personality and a sense of humor and will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Neal Wesley Roper.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Buster and Paula Roper; grandson, Joshua Roper; granddaughter and husband, Amy and Calvin Miller; and three great grandchildren, Jesse, Maya and Maysa Moose and granddaughter, Christy Roper of Virginia and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 4, 2018 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Scott Waters will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday October 3 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Victory Baptist Church, 145 Clarks Bridge Road, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 in memory of Mrs. Roper.
