James (Jimmy) Holbrook McBrayer, 75, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County passed away after a short illness Wednesday, September 26, 2018. He was a man of faith and was a self-employed painter for over 50 years. Jimmy was a wonderful father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his father, James Alfred McBrayer and his mother, Wynelle Holbrook McBrayer.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, James (Michael) and Melinda McBrayer of Woodruff, SC and John William and Jennifer McBrayer of Cumming. He is also survived by his much loved grandchildren, Bowen Miller and Jordyn McBrayer of Woodruff, SC; and special friends, Frances Worley and Daniel Mathis of Dawsonville. Many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 30, at 4:00 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Carder and Rev. Rodney Allen officiating. Mr. McBrayer will lie in state at the church beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
