Mrs. Betty Doster Hartis, age 89 of Waters Edge, Martin, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018 in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
A daughter of the late Thomas Roland and Faye Williams Doster, she was born October 25, 1928 in Lancaster, South Carolina having lived most of her life in Charlotte, North Carolina and in Stephens County since 1985. She was employed with Gulf Oil Corporation for a number of years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the Trodgon-Curtis-Wesley-Rhodes Sunday School Class and worked with the Bears Sewing Circle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Hartis in 2005 and by a grandson, Daniel Hartis.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph Michael Hartis and wife Debbie of Jacksonville, North Carolina and David Hugh Hartis and wife Donna of McDonough, Georgia; grandchildren, Kelley and Isaac Batchelor and Matthew Hartis; great-grandchild, Logan Batchelor.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 28, 2018, 1 O’clock p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with The Reverend Dr. John Brown and The Reverend James Turpin officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Isaac Batchelor, Logan Batchelor, Matthew Hartis, Anthony Hartis, Gordon Broome and Dwight Mack.
The family will receive friends on Friday at the First United Methodist Church from noon until the service time.

Entombment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Mausoleum with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Betty Doster Hartis.
