Kirk Hamilton Davis, Jr.

Kirk Hamilton Davis, Jr., age 94, passed away on September 23, 2018.  Kirk, also known as K.H., was born on September 28, 1923 to Kirk Davis, Sr and Belle Sutton Davis of Clarkesville.  Kirk graduated from Franklin County High School.  He served 2 years in the U.S. Navy station in Naples, Italy during World War II,  In 1951, he began a farming career that would span more than 60 years.  He climbed on a tractor and fed his cattle hay at 90 years old. He was instrumental in establishing a Farm Bureau office in Habersham County and served on the board of directors for many years.  He also served on the Habersham Electric Membership Corporation board for nine years.  In 2015 Kirk had the honor of being inducted into the Habersham County Farm Bureau Agricultural Hall of Fame.  

Kirk is survived by his wife, Annie Rose Allen Davis of Clarkesville; his son Allen Davis (Roslyn) of Clarkesville/Norcross; his daughter Sheila Davis Hall (Steve) of Alpharetta; and four grandchildren, Kirk Davis (Lindsay) of Norcross, Cody Davis (Marley) of Atlanta, Meredith Hall of Alpharetta and Natalie Hall of Knoxville, Tennessee.  He is also survived by his brother, Donald Davis (Betty) of Dawsonville.

Kirk was preceded in death by siblings Louise Davis King, Helena Davis Free and Phoebe Davis Kilpatrick.

A Celebration of life will be held at Hillside Memorial Chapel, 5495 Highway 197 South, Clarkesville, GA  at 1:00 PM, Friday, September 28, 2018.  Burial will follow the service at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 12030 Highway 197 North, Clarkesville, GA.  A visitation will be held at Hillside Memorial Chapel on Thursday, September 27th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
