Bert Raleigh Thomas

Bert Raleigh Thomas, age 92 of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018.

Mr. Thomas was born in Lumpkin County on August 19, 1926 to the late Luther and Ola Lee Thomas.  He was a retired textile fixer for Coronet Carpets and was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church.  Bert was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Reba Thomas; siblings, Mary Mincy, Cline Thomas, Price Thomas, Ernest Thomas, Walt Thomas, Clarence Thomas, Rufus Thomas, and Hubert Thomas.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Shirley Thomas, Cleveland; son, Kenneth Thomas, Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Jeff Kidd, Cleveland; grandchildren, Blake Thomas and Trevor Kidd.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Phillip Robinson will officiate.  Interment will follow at Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Darren Cain officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
