Mrs. Loudean Seabolt, age 99 of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away on September 18, 2018. She was born August 4, 1919, in the shadow of Cedar Mountain in Lumpkin County. Loudean was the daughter of Joe and Alice Jarrard. She attended Lydia School, Dahlonega High School and North Georgia College. In November 1938, she married N.R Seabolt. She had 2 children, Eddie Faye Franks and Danny Roy Seabolt.
Family was paramount in her life. She was the one of 13 siblings. She cherished her simple country raising and was most happy spending time with her loved ones. Loudean began teaching in the late 1930's, a career that spanned over four decades. She taught school throughout White County which included many "one room schoolhouses" and finished her career teaching 4th grade at White County Elementary School. In 1984, she renovated Lydia School because she wanted a piece of her parents "old home place" for her family to gather. She also realized that Lydia School could serve as a touchstone for the community and serve as a landmark to preserve the history of the "one room school" which was disappearing.
Loudean belonged to the First Baptist Church of Cleveland and was a member of the Faith Sunday School Class. She was a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge 565, a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a supporter of both White and Lumpkin County Historical Societies.
Surviving are her Son and Daughter-In-Law, Danny and Joyce Seabolt; Grandchildren, Dee Anna and George Likens, Christy and Rodney Black, & Grandson Erik Seabolt; Great-Grandchildren, Drew Simmons, Olivia Simmons, Noah Black and Zhen Likens. Loudean is also survived by her Sister in Laws, Mildred Jarrard and Agnes Jarrard; Brother in Law, Robert Rogers; Brother and Sister in Law, J.L. and Maxine Seabolt, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Loudean spent her life serving others as a Teacher, a Friend, a Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Her legacy is found within the innumerable lives she touched over her 99 years.
