Mrs. Nancy Lou Taylor, age 87, of Dahlonega, formerly of East Point, GA, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018.
Mrs. Taylor was born in Portsmouth, OH on February 23, 1931 to the late Willard M. and Katherine Call Beekman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters and one brother. Mrs. Taylor was one of nine children leaving only one of her siblings still living.
Mrs. Taylor had worked as an administrative assistant for 29 years at Point University (formally known as Atlanta Christian College). Her heart was dedicated to serving the Lord at Point University. Mrs. Taylor invested in the students and she loved to interact with them. She loved to read and listen to Gospel music. Her chocolate chip cookies were the best!
Mrs. Taylor left an amazing testimony for her family. She was a faithful member of East Point Christian Church. Mrs. Taylor taught Sunday School and worked faithfully at church camp each year. She was affectionately called “Grandma” by her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Gregory and Susan Taylor, Springville, AL; son Steven Taylor, Jasper; sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Kathy Taylor, Marietta; Jay and Kelly Taylor, Fayetteville; and David and Toni Taylor, Cleveland; brother William Beekman, Ohio; grandchildren Christopher and Emily Taylor, John and Shalena Taylor, Scott and Tiffany Taylor, Jeffrey Taylor, Jayson and Anna Taylor, Steven Taylor, Valerie and Thomas Aseff, Rebekah Taylor, and Rachel Taylor; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mrs. Taylor’s wishes were to be cremated. Memorial services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 23, 2018 at East Point Christian Church. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the church. The Rev. Wye Huxford will officiate.
