Danny Garlin Sherrill

Mr. Danny Garlin Sherrill, age 59 of Rock Quarry Circle, Toccoa passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Emory University Hospital.

A son of the late Garlin and Fannie Mae Butler Sherrill, he was born December 10, 1958 in Dahlonega, Georgia where he lived most of his life and the last 10 years in Stephens County. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a helicopter mechanic and later worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator for a number of years. He attended Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dahlonega. He loved his family and loved to fish and loved racing.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Toby and Cindy Sherrill of Gainesville, Georgia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Robin and Jason McCook of Dawsonville, Georgia and Tina and Russell Powell of Toccoa; a number of aunts, one uncle, nieces and nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018, 4 O’clock p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Dahlonega, Georgia with Pastor Marty Murphy officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers, Russell Powell, Tristen Powell, Jason McCook, Parker McCook, Tyler McCook and James Butler.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Danny Garlin Sherrill.
