Joseph Raymond “Joey” Faircloth

Joseph Raymond “Joey” Faircloth of Buford, GA died unexpectedly on September 13, 2018 on his 47^th birthday. Joey is survived by his beloved fiancée Megan Gillespie and her daughter Savannah Main; his children, Noah Raymond Faircloth and Lily Anne Faircloth and their mother Lori L. Faircloth; his parents, Joyce Z. and Raymond Allert “Al” Faircloth; his sisters, Bethany A. Gillliam and Theresa F. Kazmier. Joey is preceded in death by his brother Gregory A. Faircloth and his grandparents, Raymond A. and Beatrice Faircloth and Joseph Zambroni and Opal Lewis. Joey was born on September 13, 1971 in Memphis, TN to Joyce and Al Faircloth. He graduated from Shiloh High School in 1989. Joey joined the United States Army upon graduation and was a veteran of Desert Storm.  While in the Army, he received several accolades including the National Defense Service Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, and Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal. Joey also received personal achievements while serving his country such as the Good Conduct Medal, the Expert Badge for the M-16 Rifle, and the Expert Hand Grenade Badge. He achieved the rank of Sergeant with the 101 Airborne Infantry out of Ft. Campbell, KY before his honorable discharge after his service. Joey had a career in sales at Georgia Masonry Supply for over 20 years and excelled at building relationships. His coworkers and clients appreciated his generous heart, bigger than life attitude and genuinely kind disposition.  He was a loving father and a man devoted to his church and community, all of which he fiercely loved. He was passionate about coaching and supported his children’s sports teams and school activities in the Mill Creek cluster and will continue to watch over his beloved Hawks Nation. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, September 18^th, at 10am at Saint Mary and Saint Martha of Bethany Episcopal Church, 4346 Ridge Road, Buford, GA, with a full military honors service on Wednesday, September 19^th, at 3pm at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Joey’s life.
