Cynthia Lynn Scott

Cynthia Lynn Scott, age 52, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by parents, Johnny Scott and Charlotte Smith Sutton. Ms. Scott is survived by son, Kyle Bryant Scott, Lawrenceville, GA; sister, Anita Murphy, Lawrenceville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, George and Sandra Hampton, Newark, NJ; God daughter, Tyneshia Verner; her church family, Back to the Bible Holiness Church of Buford, GA, which she was dedicated to and loved by for twenty years.  Ms. Scott was born on February 7, 1966 in Newark, New Jersey. She was a 1984 graduate of Southside High School in Newark, and a 1992 graduate of Rowan University with Bachelor’s degrees in both math and computer science. Ms. Scott was a veteran of the U. S. Army. She was retired from Decatur City School system in Decatur, GA with ten years in the field of education. Ms. Scott was a member of Bible Holiness Church in Buford, GA, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta. She was a big supporter of the Gwinnett Relay for Life, and she was owner of K B Income Tax Firm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Pastor Bobby Wright officiating.  Interment with military honors will be at GA National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 17 from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service.
