Monroe William “Fireball” Gathright

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Monroe William “Fireball” Gathright, age 74 of Jefferson, Georgia who entered into rest Thursday, September 13, 2018.  Mr. Gathright was born in Jefferson, Georgia a son of the late Harvey and Jessie Mae Barfield Gathright was a member of Jones Chapel Church and was a retired welder with Thrall Car after forty plus years and later with the Jackson County School System.  In addition to his parents Mr. Gathright is preceded by a brother, Harvey Junior Gathright.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Randolph Gathright of Jefferson.  Son, Christopher Randolph and his wife Valerie of Jefferson.  Daughter, Barbara Randolph of Jefferson.  Four sisters, Mary Ann Jordan of Decatur, Betty Jordan and her husband Summie Lee of Smyrna, Linda Gathright of Crawford and Judy Norwood and her husband Douglas of Jefferson.  Brother, Billy Gathright and his wife Ruby of Jefferson.  Sister in law, Peggy Sims of Jefferson, brother in law Bobby Randolph of Jefferson.  Two grandchildren, Keyonia Cade and Krishona Randolph of Jefferson also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 17, 2018 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Moon presiding along with Reverend Ken Sims.  Burial will follow in Evans Memory Gardens. Nephews and friends will be honored as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends 2:00 - 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.  Repass will be held after the service at St Paul’s First Baptist Church, 573 Gordon Street, Jefferson, Georgia.
