He is survived by his wife Linda (Sandifer) Drew Youngblood, daughters Connie Samford (Stephen), Mary Waiboer (Jack), and Susan Lesesne (John) in Charleston SC and Charlotte Drew of Houston Texas, grandchildren Kristina Busch (Michael), Dale Whitten (Johnna), Kaitlyn Dixon (Christopher), Justin Vedrode, Bailey Lesesne and great-grandchildren Noah Dixon, Zachary and Thomas Busch, Bryson and Lydia Whitten and sister, Francis Youngblood McNutt of Cullman, Alabama plus many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Samuel Manly Youngblood, Jr. and Helen Youngblood Coleman, both of Greenwood, SC.

Jim graduated from high school in Greenwood, SC,  served in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict and then in the United State Marine Corps Reserves in Charleston, SC.  He was in transportation throughout his career. He fulfilled his lifelong dream in 2000 when he joined the Masonic Lodge and the Yaarab Shrine Temple. Above all Jim loved life, family and friends. He loved to laugh and was always thinking of others. It was Jim’s wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
